Hi everyone,
How are you today?
This week I'd like to write a little more about my last visit to Heidelberg
because whilst we were there for the Narrating Japanese Art Histories
Symposium, there was also a Japan Festival taking place at the local
museum. This included a taiko performance...
Also, an art exhibition which displayed many objects, for example,
*surimono*, decorative wooden panels and armour for not only a samurai but
for his horse as well, as you can see in the picture at the top of this
article. We often see armour for samurai in displays in museums but it is
quite rare to see it for horses too. It looks pretty impressive, doesn't it?
To wrap up this day of Japan-related things, some of us went out for a meal
at a nearby Japanese restaurant...
I have to say, both the sushi and the dessert were just what I wanted. It
really hit the spot. I felt relaxed and calm at the end of this lovely day
connected to Japan.
On a separate note, I noticed that the links to the information about the
symposium that I put in the last article didn't seem to work, so I'm going
to try to add them again here. Firstly, here's the event programme...

Followed by a link that shows the abstracts of the contents of each
lecture...

I hope it works this time!
As always, thank you for reading this. I hope you're all well and you have
a good week ahead.
Best wishes, from Corrina.☺️
